Wow I can hardly believe we have a 2 year old. We celebrated the whole month of June it seems, We had one party here in Ga at a local park, for my family and a few friends, and another party in West Virginia for Toby's out of town family. It was such big fun to celebrate Blaine's first two years. He is such a blessing to us and time has surley flown by so quickly.
One thing we are so proud of you for is being fully potty trained before TWO. You love wearing big boy undies and even wear them at night. It's so funny to hear a toilet randomly flushing in the house. You just had a big vocabuarly and sentence explosion. You are putting more words together and you can understand so many new things now. You love blaming things on the dogs and we think that is so cute. You started singing songs and even though you may not know all the words, you know the tune. You love to go swimming and play ball outside. You are getting tanner by the day! You love to give big hugs and kisses and have the sweetest most laid back personality. You have made new friends at our new church. We just joined our FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH and its the first time we have left you with anyone other than family. You have so much fun in your class and have starting saying "God is great". It's so rewarding to see you learning about and loving Jesus.

23 Months

Dearest Son,
In just one short month you will be two years old. I can't believe how much you have grown and how fast time has passed us by. It is true what they say, I truly can't imagine life before you.You weigh 32 lbs and are 37" tall. You are a big hugger and kisser. You show us love like no other. You love to jump and run and play, You are near potty trained except for those few times that you blame it on the dogs. You can name your colors. You like to call daddy by his name "Toby" because we still laugh at it. Although I think it hurts daddy's heart a little when you don't say dadda instead. You love to kick the ball, and I bet you will love soccer one day. You also love to throw it too, so there's really no limit on what your dreams could be one day. Your favorite food that you will knock someone over for is olives, green or black it doesn't matter. You love almost all veggies and yes you like meat too. You love to watch Veggie Tales and Blue's clues. You love reading books and swimming outside. You love to jump and climb and hide from us. You sing your own songs, you have your own rythm that's for sure. You've had your first haircut already, even though it's grown back. You can open doors, climb stairs and randomly will get things out of the fridge. ;) You love your friends, cousins and neighbors and you will ask us (name their name) about everyone you know nearly everyday with a look on your face as is "where are they"?
You really just light up our world, and I'm so thankful to call you my son.

20 months...wow

You should all fire me, I am the worst keeper-upper lately. but I finally have a working laptop. woohoo.
Our Blainie is now 20 months old and growing like a weed. He can do all sorts of snazzy new things and we are such blessed proud parents.
He can now repeat or try to repeat nearly everything we say.
Tries to sing his abc's but they are never in any kind of recongnizable order. It's kinda like A,E,O,D that kinda cuteness.
Is getting his canine teeth in, they're just now breaking the gums.
Can run, climb, throw and kick a ball, tries to do the motions to Itsy Bitsy Spider. Knows the difference between rain, sunshine, and snow. Also knows the difference between cold and hot. Loves to point out birds, planes, dogs, bunnies & kitties. Eats with a spoon and fork. Loves to dip things into dips to eat. Calls our dogs by name: Asia and "Bean Bean" for Bentley. way too cute. Has to be snuggled in tight at night in order to fall asleep.--I'm still loving this! Sleeps thru the night, but always wakes up early. Started last month using his potty, we're still working on it. He will often poop in it more so than pee pee.
A few cute things he's said lately were....
One day he said mama--rain, and so I came in to see what was he was talking about since I knew it was a sunny day and he had shook his sippy cup in the air so much that it was indeed raining milk.
Then another time he pointed to "bean bean" bentley our lab's eye and said MOLE. you know the dirty crustyness that can get in the corner of your dogs eye. yep, he thought it was a mole. pretty funny stuff. We can never get enough of this kid. He is the best thing that has ever happened!

We went and seen Santa the day before Thanksgiving and while you may look at this picture and think, awww look hes smiling, how sweet..... literally 1 minute before this picture was taken, it was not pretty. I bet your wondering why I'm in the photo? um yea that was the only way it was gonna happen. :) Santa was very nice, and there was no line this year, we just walked right on up to see him.
I thought it was really cute to share with you a few reminiscent photos of my brother and I with Santa, just to show you a good laugh.

I am so thankful for many many things! Especially my family! Happy thanksgiving to all of you my dear family and friends! I have so many pictures to catch up and post, but I'll just choose a few here now. Blaine is growing so much and his personality is really coming out. Its so neat to see him communicating with us and he can understand so many things now. Watching him grow has been so amazing!

Please Pray for my dad, He starts his area radiation for his cancer treatment this upcomming week. He has Prostate Cancer and had the radiation seed therapy, and now he will have the area treatments for 7 weeks straight, 5 days a week. Pray that these treatments work and that he will soon be cancer free!

I love them Eberly's Oh how I have missed this girl! and her lil girl! I am so glad they are back in Georgia now, for a great while. They have lived in Alaska for too long! Lori and Kenzie stayed with us a few days while Travis was in Vegas for work and we had a great time. We went to the Yellow River Game Ranch and to the park and on several lil get outta of the house trips. Here are a ton of pics below.

We really wanted to trick or treat but the weather didnt really permit for it so we got all dressed up and went to the Lively's house for a little Halloween food and fun. I made Blaine's costume and it sure was a hit.

We went fishing again, at that same sweet new friend's property. He is so generous to let us come fish there. Toby caught one but let it go back. I took a few more pictures. This past weekend we went on a spur of the moment fishin' trip, not very far away, is this lil fishin hole of a very sweet man we met recently. He was kind enough to let us come out last minute on Sunday and fish on his property. It had been rainy all day and when we seen a lil crack of sunshine, we hauled up and went down the road. We weren't there too long, just long enough to enjoy the scenery and get a lil dirty. Hubby didn't catch anything, but it was a fun trip. Blaine had such a great time exploring mudpuddles, rocks, and dirt. He got a good scrubdown when we got home!

Blaine's hair hasn't been cut yet, but it likes to curl up so sweet in the back.

14 Months

So I'm a lil' late on this post, but Blainie boo turned 14 months on the 26th. He is getting bigger, talking more, and associating things with names. He can get in a rocking chair and rock it, feed himself finger foods and successfully hold his own bottle and sippie, he is okay with letting himself fall asleep. He has really turned into Mr. independant here lately. I think its wonderful he's learning new things and progressing so awesome, but it makes me sad to see it go by so incredibly fast, as I always say. Here is my 14 month old.

September Playdate & The Shop

Here are a few pictures from our playdate with cousin Ava as well as the shop. We went by the shop and it was the first time he had actually "gotten down" there and able to run around. It was so cute, and he had a blast playing with the Serdi machine. I have a few video's as well that I will add.

Don't they look like Twins? When they are together people usually ask. They are shocked when we inform them they are a whole year and 2 months apart, and cousins.

We made these tie dyed shirt the day before and a few other things. I'll have to post those pics later. They turned out pretty well!

A West Virginia Weekend.....

This past weekend we traveled to WV for a good Olde' fashioned "Shield's family reunion", Toby's dad's side of the family. We had a great time, and got to visit with family. We also missed alot of family too. We get sad when we have to pack in visits with such a small amount of time. We are coming back in 3 weeks or so and hope to plan it better so that we can see those that we missed. Here are a few pictures from the weekend. It sure was great weather. This post is bitter and sweet. Kind of like that of a Vidalia onion. Sometimes they can be bitter and sometimes they can be sweet. My grandfather passed away. Which is sad. He had Cancer and Alzheimer's,and he lived to be a beautiful 91 years of age. A long happy life. He was my dad's dad. A father of 3 boys. My dad being the youngest. So we went to "where the onions grow" to pay tribute to him, a WW2 veteran who spent 3 years sleeping on the ground defending our country. Defending our right to be free. We were never really super close, But we loved him and when we visited he always had a new joke to tell. He was a very funny man. Here is my last pictures of him and Blaine.....

BIG RED Barn

Yesterday we took Blaine to Lenora park near our house. I have always wanted to snap his pic in front of this Big Red Barn. It's a road we used to pass everyday when we lived at our first house. It was a little bit overcast, and cool so it was a nice day to be outside.

Here are 3 random pics that I wanted to share, they were taken at my friend Wendy's house after a snack of some good ole' fashioned cheerios of course. As I'm sitting here typing this Blaine is eating a whole apple by himself, hes gotten to the point where if you cut it up he will not want it that way, he likes to be such a big boy, I guess cause he sees us eat our apples that way. I have a pic of him eating one I'll have to find and post later tho. We are hoping to take our boat out soon, can you believe we've had a nice fish n ski boat for say 3 years and have only taken it out twice. It's a shame. We've been dying to take Blaine out on the water!! Just gotta get hubbs away from his shop. He's been working so hard lately. Hope you are having a wonderful Friday and enjoy your weekend.

13 months

Our Hoss turned 13 months old on the 26th. He's doing so many new things, and we get excited with each new one. I dont think I've ever said I've had a "favorite stage" of his age, but this one has been the most rewarding. I'll get to why a lil later.

He's walking now, he'll take about 10 or 20 steps at a time and will then make a bee line by speed crawling. He can sit in a chair, climb things like a monkey, he can very easily get up and off the couch, and our bed is a lil high, but he can get down pretty easy. He loves to climb the stairs (thank goodness for gates) we had a couple shocking realities with him climbing them in the split second that we looked away. Hes into talking now. He will say a new word each day it seems. and of course we may never hear it for a very long time, but when he says a new word we get all excited and try to get him to say it again. Now for the rewarding part.....He said LOVE YOU yesterday. I completely melted into a ball of jello. We have told him prolly 80758475847830495 times in his 13 month life that we love him, but to hear it BACK....utterly emotionallly priceless. Also last week he said his first 3 word sentence, It was "I get down" from his highchair, when he was finished eating, he said it 2 times and has yet to say it again.

He can regularly say bye-bye and thank you. and he just now has started to understand us it seems. He got a magna doodle for his birthday and while playing in his room one day I told him Go draw me a picture....which I always praise him for drawing on it when he does, and he actually went got it and brought it back to me and started drawing a picture on it. I was shocked. This was the first realization that "hey he knows what Im saying" and of course we never ever will get tired of the hugs and kisses he gives.

He loves to dance to music, its the cutest thing and I cant wait to get a video of him doing that. He knows a few body parts. Instead of pointing them out on hiself he will point them out on whoever is holding him. He knows, eyes, nose, ears, mouth, teeth and belly button. His belly button actually is red from him playing it with it constantly. He has quite a obsession over it.

Food: He is feeding himself finger foods, such as sandwich pieces, fruit & veggies, cheerios. We JUST started him on meats, as our pediatrician is a lil more holistic than others and doesn't recomend the animal protiens until 12 months of age, but so far, he loves Organic Chicken, and Organic Turkey, hes not 100 percent sure of the Organic beef yet tho. His favorite foods are still avacado, cheerios, and organic chicken and stars.

We haven't turned the carseat around, we plan to Rear Face just as long as his Recarro seat will allow which is 35 lbs. The AAP recommendations set forth recently were alarming to us and our pediatrician so we decided it was a better choice for our family. We never turned him around Foward so he wont know the difference anyway. He currently weighs 26ish lbs, and is 33 inches tall. He is over 100 percentile for his height and pretty average for his weight. Super tall is what his Ped described. :)

So thats a good rundown of how hes been growing. As parents we are baffled by how fast this all has transpired. I can't believe its been 13 months! I took some new pics this Sunday of him outside with our furkids. Here they are....

Its been so long my dear friends (mostly fam) sorry, but summer has been super busy here. I do have a few photos for you though. My canon camera drowned in the pool 2 weeks ago so I have really seen how much I missed it. Luckily I had a warranty on it so I should sometime or another be getting the new one. In fact, Toby felt so sorry for me, he bought me a cheap lil sony just to tie me over til I get my new one. It will become his for work once I get my new one sent. anyway, these couple of pics are from last month (Junish) but they were cute so I thought Id play catch up and post some more incredible ones above..... West Virginia 1st Bday Weekend

We're back from West Virginia. We went up this past weekend, for a family reunion of Toby's mom's side of the family and the next day we had a WV 1st bday party at Pipestem State Park for Blaine so that all their family could come and celebrate with him. It was such a nice visit. We were able to visit with lots of family and everyone was able to enjoy our lil boy on his actual birthday weekend. Pipestem was just gorgeous and we cant wait to go back and stay there at the bottom of the river next time. It so beautiful. Here is a few hundred pics or so. lol

Dear Blaine,

It was 1 year ago that God blessed us with you. You were the most beautiful and perfect thing I have ever laid eyes on. It's amazing that in a few hours you will be ONE. We had no idea how incredibly much that you would change our whole world. The day we brought you home, we laid you in the middle of the bed and just stared at you as you slept. We were in awe of the most precious thing to have ever happened to us, It's only by God's grace that something so beautiful and perfect could be given to us. It truly is bittersweet as you turn ONE. We have so many memories already, and yet it seems that it was just yesterday we were in the hospital hearing your first cries, giving you your first bath, puttin' on that first outfit, your first picture, your first caride home, your first holiday--it was the 4th of July. Sooo many firsts. and we are excited to think of the ones that await us. I promise to be here for you always, and know that one day you'll be able to read this, and know how very much we love you. There is no greater love than that of a child. I thank God for you every single day. Happy Birthday my sweet baby boy...you may be turning ONE...but you'll always be my baby.

Our Organic Garden

Toby planted a few organic tomato's, jalepenos, peppers, and rhubarb a while back and we are starting to see them come up. These were taken on fathers day, and every morning it's been a ritual to go out and help daddy water the garden before work. He did have a diaper on but of course he wanted down and it got dirty so I just took it off right before taking these. lol. I sensored one of em' for online purposes. Last week we were gonna go swimming, BUT this happened, He had a fall-out mid-play while I was getting my suit on. He had his swimmie diaper on and everything....and zzzzzzzzzzz.

My family and a handful of good friends celebrated Blaine's Birthday over here on Sunday. His 1st Birthday isn't actually until the 26th of this month, and we plan to celebrate it again at a park in West Virginia with Toby's family & friends.
But we sure did have a fun time. He realized that it was for him and sure was eating it up. He received many great gifts and we are so thankful to you all. We sure did enjoy all yall coming over and thank you for loving our lil boy so much.

Blaine's cousins all came over last week to swim over here and we sure had a blast. Blaine is slowly getting a lil bit darker, I'm not 100 perent sold on the fact that he will be as white as the Tobes, but time will tell. and of course we use sunscreen, don't want anyone scared. lol

Yes its true, we are to be hitting that one year mark soon, real soon! As in a few weeks soon. I think back and remember how oblivious it was to hear people say how fast the time passes. ITS TRUE. I can't believe hes almost ONE, I don't even like typing it purely for the fact that he's slipping out of the baby stage......well he will ALWAYS be MY baby.

These pics below are not FRESHLY new, they are maybe a month old, but somehow got lost in the masses of pics I have on several hardrives. But wanted to post them as they are some of Blaine's FAVORITE things to do on a DAILY basis. I don't want to ever forget how cute they are even though I see this every day, I wanted you to see it for the first time possibly.

A week ago we went to Vidalia, unfortunately for a funeral of my great Uncle Mark. My Grandfather's Brothers on my mamas side. But we did get to see Lots of family while we visited. My Uncle John came all the way from Las Vegas! We dont get to see him very often so we sure enjoyed his visit. We also visited both sets of my grandparents. They are getting up in age so It's always nice for htem to see Blaine. Its super cool that he has 3 sets of GREAT Grandparents! Here are a few pics from that weekend.

We had dinner over at the Lively's house on Sat. with Toby's family and then we went to Heritage Park in McDonough to visit my family. It was a great weekend. I feel like for sure I was a mother last year and I was only pregnant with this lil man, but it was special now being able to celebrate it with him. Toby and I swam and cooked out and celebrated outside and got some much needed yardwork done. It was a super day. I thank God everyday for this lil man!

We tried some organic Earth's Best teething bars..... they seemed good right? but boy were they messy! He had a ball being able to feed himself. He then was stripped of his diaper and off to the nearest sink available....the kitchen sink..... and he still fit in it! I was surprised and still happy that he could. I'm wanting to hold on to everything baby while I still can, hes growing up on me this boy of mine. Right before my eyes..... The big O-N-E is coming up soon. I'm teary eyed as I type this.

We had a superfun time Darrin. This is the first time I was able to carry Blaine in the sling, When he was smaller he would freak out and I never oculd carry him in it. So I was proud baby wearer!!

Have you ever loved someone this much? Oh the joy of bein' a mama. Today was a fun day. My sis in law Annie came over with my niece AVA, and we had a wonderful day. They played (we made a ton of videos) and both the babies ate pasta today! and peaches! It's so fun to feed him now. He actually gets it without spitting it out now. Not many messes any more.
He can crawl really fast, pull up on everything, coast from furniture to furniture, Stand for a few seconds alone, He attempts to take steps but always falls, Clap his Hands, Kiss, Hugg, say DADA, Yeah, Hey, Hi, "Asia" (our dog), and attempts to say "Bentley" our other dog's name but it usually comes out "A--deeeee", He is learning so much so fast, It's so nice to watch it all. I'm so thankful I get to see every bit of it and not miss anything. He's shifting into those stage 2-3 foods. Today when he ate some peach I only had to cut it up in little pieces and he was able to eat it well. He only has 2 teeth, the 2 on the bottom.
He's able to comprehend things such as when we ask him if he wants something such as food or a ba-ba he'll make a noise if he does that's like (eh eh eh eh) real fast like little huffs/hastles. He loves to play peep eye, I have a new video of that below. Hes sleeping on his tummy now, he rolls that way himself. He can pick up a phone faster than you can get it away from him. He also will go after our drink cups and wants a "sip" of our water from the cup like us, he actually likes it!
We are in amazement at how fast he is growing, We just love him so much!

Ok so forgive me, I'm so behind. This was about 2 weeks ago with Blaines Cousin ava, shes such a princess! and a few of Blaine on the forklift with pawpieee at the shop. He will be 9 months old this week. I seiously can't believe it. He is also on the verge of walking....yes at soon to be 9 months. He is standing alot by himself for a few seconds, been cruising from furniture to furniture for a lil bit now and today he actually took a step by standing up alone. FIRST time people he took the lone step. I would have done anything to have had my camera but it was so fast, and he did need me after the realization on his face of "what am I doing" came on. I sure am one proud mama tho!

Can u believe we just had snow melt and its now getting up to 80 degrees during the day? WOW. We love it! This past weekend we took Blaine to our favorite park.....Tribble Mill Park. and took a Gazillion Pictures, heres some of our faves. He swang for the first time here and loved it. I about fell out when he chewed on the swing seat though. whew. and can u believe hes almost 9...yes 9 months old? It is going so fast. I can't take enough pictures. Im so scared I'll miss something!

So when we were coming back from our family visit from vidalia, we drove home in lots of snow! We had such a beautiful winter wonderland when we arrived home & found dada waiting for us in the driveway. He had missed us so much. It was so fun the next day we took Blaine out in the snow. This is a long picture post. 2 weeks ago we went and seen almost my whole 2 sides of family...all in one place...Vidalia, GA. My moms and dads side all live in the same place pretty much! Toby unfortunately didnt get to go since he had to work that weekend, so we missed him so much! It was the first time weve been away with little Blaine without dada. My mom and I drvoe down with Blaine and My Brother Jamie & Annie & all their kiddos, all met us down there as well. My dads dad My Grandpa, Blaines Great Grandpa is almost 91, so he had never seen Blaine before. It was really neat to get these pics of them together. We also seen Blaines Other Great Grandfather, Dee Dee My moms dad, and got some pics of them as well. Also my cousin Kelly, Britnney and cousin Linda. We got to see my dad of course too since he has a home there as well. It was a nice trip and we were all so glad to get to go down together at the same time. On our way back we got such a nice surprise......SNOW!!!

These pics above are from when my cousin Kelly came to visit. Her daughter Addison was in a dance competition here in Duluth and so Blaine and I went up to meet them for dinner at Jillians, and played some games there, (kindof like a dave and busters).

Oh and a big congrats to Addison for winning and getting a trip to NY to compete this June!! Woohoo!

Long Time No Blog.....

So sorry for the delay! I have actually been semi-working from home. I've started doing a few websites for folks and think I love it so far! Check out http://www.dixieperformance.com/ its my hubby's site I've been workin on....still not done, but its up and running tho. I'm also working on a few more but wont give them away just yet... still tweaking on them. Were also doing some renovations to our master bath & laundry room. Such a mess we've made, but it will be gorgeous in the long run! Wendy took some awesome pics of Blainie the other day I thought I would share! I always love her pics! Blaine has been good. Weve really been working on talkin. He has been perfecting ASIA, Hey, Hi, Yeah, and Dada. NO MAMA yet tho..... were working on that one. He has really been a gettin around. He has started standing hands free for a lil bit and of frightingly climbing on any and everything he can get to. He can now climb out of his jumper----scary!! His walker is now dangerous as he likes to pull things along with him.....such as furniture.... Loves getting into the kitchen cabinets and pulling out our pantry items, pots and pans. He sure does know how to hug and kiss and those are the things that make my day...every day. He means so much to me!!

Sooooo many new things.....this little man..... hes into everything! Crawling really fast! & He has started climbing...onto toys, his baby gates, his walker, cabinets.....we have to be like hawks with our kitchen cabinets...can you say BABY PROOF...Oh we need to! Before we get ourselves into trouble! He so melts my heart every single day. I can never get enough kisses! He can hug and kiss now. You can tell him "Give me a kiss" and he will smack one on ya with a quickness. Always on the mouth and very very wet. He has been saying "Yeah" ,"Da Da", and "Hey"and every other jibber we cant decifer yet! He loves to COPY your face and will do what we do.
His last checkup went well. He is 30" tall and weighs 20 lbs. in the 90th percentile for weight still and over 100th for height. He is in love with PICKLES. We gave him a taste one day and he acted like it was the best food weve ever fed him. It helps with his teething too!
His growing up is so bittersweet. Honestly we just brought him home from the hospital! I can't believe 7 months have past us by. Oh we just want to eat him up! Im enjoying every minute and I dont want to miss any of it! Heres a few recent pics. Sorry I have been so bad about not posting. It seems as though all of us have been passin around the sick bug here lately, and were all finally well!! I've gotten your emails! Im sorry! Here's some new Hossy pics!

Oh dear,

My lil baby is getting so big! So grown up. It's so heartfelt to see him grow so fast. Bittersweet! New Things he's doin.....
Pulling up, Starting Crawling, Saying Consonants, Blowing Bubbles, Noticing our reactions and acting according to them--funny by the way!, holding things with a Harsh grasp, patting when he doesn't like or want something, rolling forever over and over, climbing all over us, and the biggest... EATING!! He's had Sweet Potatoes, Bananas and Green Beans, with 4 days stretched out in between, this kiddo has had some allergies so we've been late and careful!!
We are getting the full allergy test done this Jan. so well know for sure what all he's allergic to.

As I'm writing this...Blaine and I are inside the playzone gates together...He's playing on his new piano pulling up on it....by himself---which scares me...bad....He just turned 6 months old.....learning to crawl......but still more of a scoot. However running in his walker and ramming things with it. Hes Wide open as Toby says!

We had a wonderful Christmas....just watching Blaine get so excited tearing paper, watching him play.....We really enjoyed seeing him interact with his stuff. Some of his presents were The Fisher Price Learning Home, Melissa and Doug Wooden Piano, and the Parents Magazine Wooden Busy School. (bead maze thingy) Little People Tugboat with blocks, Amazing Animals Train, Lots of Melissa and Doug wooden toys (bottles & play food), links, handmade wooden trucks. sassy toy phone/blackberry, & keys, soft blocks, books........... Santa, Toby & I all tried hard to find wooden toys & phthalate free toys. Nannie & Pawpie stopped by and brought a Thomas the Train Tent, An Awesome See n Say that says a ton of billengual words, a leapfrog, and more....We took alot of pictures.... He was in sensory overload for a while...maybe still is...after all the playtime we went over to the Lively's for a good dinner and played their Wii & rockband for a while.... Its been so much fun and we are looking foward to mama's family Christmas on New Years this year. Hope You enjoy the pictures.......
